A new use in something old
A new use in something old
By Melanie Werner
In today’s world, we often buy things to wear just once before discarding them. That has not always been the case and looking back we can learn that everything can be remade and reused to be given a new purpose. A great example is the lime green and black 1880’s bodice and skirt which was remade after very little use. The miniature gown made from an old silk shirt and a lace dress, takes inspiration from the skirt pieces and modern couture gowns to show that this practice is very much feasible today. There is always a new use to be found for something old.
