Major Modification
By Amelia Hitchings
I was inspired by the ‘Like Father Like Daughter’ piece, and so based my piece on the idea of my great-grandfather, Major Alfred Reeves Clark (who later became a Deacon in Salisbury), handing his WW2 uniform down to his daughter to repurpose into Sunday best. She then went on to wear the garment to attend his sermons ten years later, as a woman in her twenties during the 1950s.
By repurposing the uniform to create an outfit for the next generation, this piece is an example of sustainability in action.
