Sustainable Fashion Show

Salisbury Arts Centre
We worked alongside social enterprise The Swish and local young people to bring you an exciting Sustainable Fashion Show! It was hosted at Salisbury Arts Centre by Wiltshire Creative who worked in partnership with us on the show. Young people took part in workshops over the summer to create some amazing outfits to wear down the catwalk! Local sustainable fashion businesses showed off their collections on the catwalk and there were sustainable shopping opportunities too!
This event was part of Sustainable Fashion Week which aims to bring the community together to take creative action and change the fashion system.
It was kindly supported by the Wiltshire Council Area Board Youth Grant.
Workshops for young people
12 - 18 years
The Salisbury Museum
Take part in a programme of fun after-school workshops. The sessions will include planning a prestigious fashion exhibition at the museum for 2024, going behind the scenes in the museum fashion store and seeing items from the collection, and trying out new skills.
There will also be opportunities to work with an artist and designer to try out creative ideas and get involved in promoting fashion sustainability to really make a difference. If you are interested, do get in touch to find out more.

This programme can count towards Duke of Edinburgh Award, creative skills section
Dorset Museum
Take part in a programme of fun after-school workshops at Dorset Museum. The sessions will include discovering the stories of the objects in the museums fashion collection and trying out some exciting sewing skills with inspiring experts.
There will also be opportunities to try out creative ideas and get involved in promoting fashion sustainability to really make a difference.

Free Secondary school workshops explore fashion sustainability.
Find out about the fashion collection at The Salisbury Museum and the stories of sustainability it tells, and work with experts and the museum team to try out some practical skills. Workshops are fun and flexible and can be tailored to the group taking part.

Workshops for primary schools
Newspaper Fashion - Free Primary school workshop exploring fashion sustainability.
Pupils can find out about the fashion collection at The Salisbury Museum and the stories of sustainability it tells, work in teams to create their own newspaper fashion and take part in a newspaper fashion show. Workshops are a fun and exciting way to explore the topic of sustainability.
